There is a section in our local paper, and I have to say I like reading about the "stupid" or ridiculous people of the world as it helps to take my mind off more serious matters.
Anyway this week there were these stories that caught my eye, and I thought I would share-
There are some other real "rich" stories like the guy who was convicted on 6 counts of sexual abuse of a minor, and was fired from his job with a company which specializes in Christian-themed books. He filed a unfair dismissal claim, because he never actually served jailed time, and therefore was fired unfairly.

In July, Jeanette Passalaqua, 32, filed a lawsuit in San Bernadino, Calif., against Kaiser Permanente medical organization for the death of her husband in June 2004, when he passed our while watching his wife receive an epidural, fell over, and fatally hit his head. According to the lawsuit, hospital personnel had asked the husband to comfort his wife while the needle was being inserted and therefore was at fault"
"QUESTIONABLE JUDGEMENT"
Steven Newell was hospitalized in London, Ontario in June after his large plastic swimming pool, which he had just placed his second-floor balcony and then filled with water, caused the balcony to collapse and plunge to the ground. The pool, 8 feet in diameter and filled with water to a height of 20 inches, required about 640 gallons and weighed more than 2 1/2 tons. Newelll had relocated the pool to the balcony in order to avoid the safety requirement of building a fence around it."
