• this is getting silly

I'm all for good / goofy job titles (i.e. garbage man = sanitation engineer), but this one is getting silly. I received a business card yesterday from a hair stylist who does color (which I've commonly heard referred to as "colorist"), and it said "Chemical Technician".

    It just strikes me silly!

I think I'd rather be called a colorist....I've never heard "chemical technician"!

That's nuts, I wonder who came up with that one? If I were to read that title, I would assume it is some sort of tech working under a chemist. Coming up with elaborate titles to describe oneself seems like a desperate plea to mask feelings of inferiority IMO!

And so I suppose the shampoo girl is a "hair clarifying technician"?

Don't you know that she is the hair from any dirt or grease?
