  • where is everyone with interviews?

    for....dare I say it....REAL JOBS????
    • How many interviews has your doc gone on?
What criteria are you using to evaluate each area?
How are you going to decide if you will go on a second interview? Will you go on all of them or just the "very favorites?"
      Anybody have any offers?

    Very exciting. Share share!!!

My DH has gone on three first interviews and has three more scheduled.
He also has two second interviews being scheduled -- dates to be determined.

I'm not exactly sure how we will evaluate each area...we're in the beginning phase of talking through them. Gut instinct, family friendly environment, and education will play a HUGE role.

Evaluating the job is easier for me. I am interested in compensation, hours, call, how vacation works and professional happiness (not necessarily in that order but pretty close! )

DH just finished an interview last night and they asked him back. This job trumps the other one we have a second interview with (it hasn't happened yet) so I am wondering if I go on both or just this new one? We want to keep our options open but don't want to waste anyone's time.

    Where is everyone else??

    We're just jealous...

Our interview process consisted of my husband contacting the Program Director in San Antonio and saying, "Hello, Sir. I'd like to come back to SA. He replied, "Glad to hear from you, we'd love to have you."

A wee bit anti-climatic, but when you only have 5 options and 3 are taken, it's literally a coin flip!

      Jenn,

Do you think your lack of options was due to military issues or job market at the time or...???

      Just curious!

No, we can only go to the large Army Hospitals- San Antonio, Seattle, Hawaii, Germany, and DC.

Germany and Hawaii are taken, DC is the training center so they don't need more staff, which leaves SA and Seattle. Two graduates- two spots- Hubby's co-worker wants Seattle, we want SA. Easy Peasy....of course, this IS the Army...they could at any time change the rules on us. We'll find out in December the 85% likely spot.

We're on the home stretch!!!!!! Tonight dh will be talking to his attorney about the contract and assuming that she doesn't have any major concerns with it, he will be signing it!!! I am so excited.

DH started looking for his real job in early spring since geography was VERY important to us. He knew that the oppurtunities are limited in the area where we would consider living. We're both from Oregon, so we refused to consider anything outside of Oregon or southwest Washington. We felt very fortunate that dh found two excellent possibilities.
