    Thanks for the heads-up Jenn.

I wish sales people would refrain from assessing the customer's flaws. Maybe it's just those of us with substantial flaws - or insubstantial egos. I had a sales lady once expend an enormous effort to find a coat that balanced my rear end. She kept steering me away from the coats I liked with comments like "That really isn't cut for women like you!" and "You don't know how bad it looks from the back!" Uhhhh.....thanks? I did take the advice, but purchased in a different store.

Honestly, is this a good sales technique? I prefer the whole vanity-sizing culture.

"Madam, perhaps you should try this one in a 2 -- that one is just falling off your fabulously toned body!" That'll get my wallet out every time.

Sometimes I wish I could work from home and stay in PJs all day. As much as I love dressing up, the whole control-top-3-inch-heels-push-up-pencil-skirt gets tiring after a 12 hour day.

Can I play Stacy? I love the show and sometimes wished I didn't know how to dress so that they'll take me on. But I already shop in those stores. DH actually gets scared when I name the store based on how their clothes racks are positioned.

May be we can have a thread where you post what you need and your budget and I find the stuff? It'd be easier if all of you lived in NY, then I could point to specific stores.

        Heck, I'm game!

Although we've got some pretty cool stuff in DC, nothing is like NYC! I'd love to have a day to wander through the city and shop. My parents had a fab condo in East NY that looked into Manhattan. But they sold it to move to the boonies of Maryland. Not that looking at the Chesapeake Bay and sailboats sucks- but the shopping and night life sure does!

Are you offering to be a personal shopper? I need some shoes for the *$%&^#$) department Xmas party coming up!

You rock. I was recently having a conversation with some friends about how all of us fashion-clueless gals need to do all their clothes shopping with a true fashion diva. My mom has a friend who will take her around and pluck this that and the other thing off of the rack and send her to the fitting room. Heavenly! I have a friend who's willing to serve the same function for me -- her rundown on the cut of pants that flatters apples vs. pears was a huge eyeopener! -- but sadly I am being a pennypincher these days and simply won't spend money on myself.
