We were going to try to go to Greece last year (as it turns out you can't plan a fabulous trip to Greece on $2K--silly us! ), so that is right at the top of our list. We'd also like to get over to Florence, Siciliy, Taormina or any other beautiful place in Italy. After that I'd take any place in Europe, since I have yet to go there. I just want to go somewhere with beautiful architecture. It's more likely that our next few trips will be somewhere in the continental US, but it's good to dream. At any rate, there are lots of great places right here in the US of A that I haven't seen yet.

With the husband AND kids:
Australia - for a month.
And, New Zealand. My bil has lived in NZ for the last year and a half and he loves it.
Mexico - Yucatan specifically, so the kids and my husband can "get back to their roots".
Just me and the husband:
Hawaii, Southeast Asian cruise, long tour of Europe (couple of weeks minimum)
I'd also love to go on a trip somewhere with my family (mom, dad, siblings). They're all pretty fun and can completely crack me up with their observations. I think it'd be fun to go somewhere like England with the lot of them.

Originally posted by JulieThe same place every year would be to New Hampshire over Columbus Day. My husband grew up doing this with his siblings, mom, cousin, and gram, and it seems to be the one thing from their childhood they all speak glowingly of.
Last time we were there we were so enthralled with the area we actually found ourselves looking at vacation properties. You rent the house out for most of the ski season and it pays your mortgage pretty handily for the rest of the year. Worth looking into!

I just remembered a vacation I wanted to take with DH -- sea kayaking in Fiji. I've been hanging on to it for quite a while. Had planned it for our tenth anniversary, , perhaps 15 is more realistic.
I found it while filing an article a travel article on Laura Ingalls Wilder sites. That would be an in the US trip for the fam (definitely NOT just DH and me ).

I was seconds away from putting a deposit down on a vacation with Backroads- biking through the dalmation coast-
and then I remembered that if we happen to be sent for Germany, Europe takes on a whole new meaning.
So- think good thoughts- we find out in a month!
