Also, does your DH know in pharmaceutical reps who need something. DH has gone to the dark side several occasions to give talks for $500 a pop. Last year he made $1500 this way.

The dark side is calling....DH has been paid to give feedback on presentations (or something like that). $500 easy cash.

I think craig's list is a great idea -- maybe you could work a trade for babysitting (if that would work for you).

I am so sorry. My DH knows how to do a lot of handyman type stuff, he just doesnt have the time or energy to do it. It really pisses me off to pay someone 4x what it would cost my DH to do it for.

My husband knows how to do more stuff than I do, but that isn't saying much! Neither of us knows ANYTHING about cars.

What you are posting about, Heidi, is the very reason that we have so much credit card debt even though DH did a military residency and got paid pretty well for a resident. Cars and home repairs. In hindsight, during residency we should have bought a house for about 10 or 20K less than we did so we would have had the money to fix stuff as it came along. Oh well, live and learn, right? We have certainly erred on buying on the cheaper side as far as homes go ever since.

The drug rep talks and chart reviewing are good ideas.....maybe something will work out there? I hope something works out. Hang in there.

Yuck, yuck, yuck! I'm so sorry that you are looking at two possible major expenses! I think some of the others have some good advice, I don't have anything to add, but I feel for you. Do you have any family members that would be willing to help you out? Good luck and I hope you find some sort of solution soon!
