I belong to a Chicago Knotties board, aka the "Chittie Lounge." It was a branch off of theKnot.com and is mostly full of newly married women. This board is helpful in anticipating what's to come with my medical marriage, but since I don't have children yet the other board kind of fits better for the period in my life!

I belong to this board and subscribe to one of the MA state homeschool boards. But wow, three days or more away from this site and so much happens!

No kidding!! I am just now coming back since I 'left the internet' in May. (took some classes, was blessed with mono, etc) I am just boggled by all that has happened with everyone.

I used to visit a bunch of sites, MomMD(wishful thinking), Student Doctor(more wishful thinking ), Old PreMeds(do we see a trend here?!) and a plethora of mommy sites(my favorite was MomsWhoThink). Tracy, I just cannot deal with BabyCenter. People are so rude there! Is that why you guys formed a private group?

Now I only visit here, which has always been my favorite. (It's been almost 3 years since I started coming here )

yeah, we got tired of hearing the same thing over and over and being accused of being too conformist or not comforming enough. The trolls didn't help. Or the drama queens or the people who were putting WAY too much importance on what virtual strangers thougth of your parenting skills. High turnover rate too.

Things just clicked with about 10 of us and we bailed. Its really slow now, with most of us having more kids and our older ones being in school. Mostly drive bys to give quick updates. But when we were first starting out it was a godsend.

I also visit mothering.com a lot. It has some great info on attachment parenting, but the doc bashing gets very old.

My main board is one that is split into two- ourlittleuniverse.com, and it has a baby side and a main "home" side. It is a paid board mostly of women from a wedding site, and I like that the yearly fee keeps most of the trolls away.

My old sorority friends from college have a small ezboard. It is slow, but a great place to catch up

Wow, you aren't kidding. I was reading in the circumcision forums and had to just .... leave. None of my boys are circumcised, but these women are busy giving medical advice on infections and their dx/ treatment etc.....wow. They really don't like dawkters!

The only other board I really visit is a board that I have belonged to for almost 9 years. It is a group of women who all have kids born in Jan 1998. We "met" while pregnant at ParentsPlace.com, but they changed their format, and we abandoned ship and are now at TheParentPerspective.com. We have lost some posters along the way, and gained some too, but for the most part there are about 30 of us who have been there since the beginning. I have met several of them.

I have been frequenting here more recently though, as I find that you guys are the only ones who get it at all.

My own sister made a remark today about my future as a dawkter's wife and its brilliance. She is applying to med school right now, but try as I may, I can't get her to see the reality of it all. I wonder if a few years ago I had read posts similar to the ones that I post now if it would have changed anything for us or if it would have been blind ego that pushed us to where we are now. "That would never happen to us." "Sure, it will be hard, but we can do it."

This board is my dialysis. I can spew all of the nastiness out and feel better for it with some encouragement along the way. I come away with a cleaner outlook and more desire to make it. Even those who think to themselves snide remarks about me don't post them. For that, I thank you. Thank you all for saving me and my marriage.

                      This board ROCKS!

Why go anywhere else? We got it all right here.

In the past, I have very infrequently stopped in an ivillage pregnancy 2004 forum, a montessori forum, and various forums on Runnersworld.
