    How to prepare

    Any suggestions for how a wife is to prepare for residency ?
    I think I just recently came to the reality, that I am going to be a single mom for a Very long time. Is that the best prespective to describe family life ? single motherhood + sporadic conjugal visits from your baby's daddy ?

    Come here, read the archives, ask questions, and vent away when things get really bad.

    other than that, your single mom description pretty much covers it. (except for the conjugal visits...they're usually too tired or you're too pissy.)
