I can honestly say that 5 years if retail management in a clothing store was good preperation for the patience required to raise children.

Oh, and it also taught me how to clean up various bodily fluids and solids, how to fold and put away clothes, clean bathrooms, wash floors, vacuum ,pack boxes, and deal with people who think they are too busy working to deal with your requests.

I know what you mean. I worked as an OT, where I spent a lot of time helping people getting dressed, bathe, get to the toilet, etc. It was a perfect lesson in patience watching a stroke patient spend over 5 minutes trying to wriggle their foot into a sock. Not to mention, I'd much rather clean up the bodily fluids and bathe my own offspring than some 85 year old man!

Johnny Depp has said that dealing with his drunken friends was good prep for parenthood. All that weaving and falling over - and the bodily fluids and lack of boundaries. Of course, I'd like anything Johnny said.

And kids are usually cuter than drunk friends.
