Angie - We have similar traditions! We always do something Italiany for Christmas eve and chinese food for new years! Our menu is:

Christmas eve - Spaghetti Squash Gratins with Chunky Tomato Sauce (from this month's cooking light), garlic bread, salad

Christmas breakfast - breakfast sausage casserole
Christmas dinner - turkey, glazed carrots (also from this months cooking light), honey roasted sweet potatoes, pumpkin bread, and salad

New years dinner - various chinese dishes and homemade eggrolls and fortune cookies. Not sure what we are making - DH is in charge of the menu....

This year we are deviating slightly because we're going to my friend's for dinner-

She's making a scallop and lentil dish with some other yummy stuff. This will be an alcohol free event (a first for us!) because her husband stopped drinking, her brother never did, and her dad really shouldn't. I'm all fine and dandy with that.

Christmas Day- like I posted elsewhere- it'll be whatever mom feels like making.

NY Eve- yummies from Whole Foods take-out/cheese/olive bar. Rick's on-call so we'll have a token toast at midnight.

NY Day- Black eyed peas, ham, and something else- haven't figured out what.

          Jenn

ps- Matt- the hot dog thing inspired me to make chili cheese dogs for dinner last night. Thanks!!!
