Vishenka! I need your help

Ok. I have a party coming up in less than 2 weeks that I have to attend and it is an all white party!!! I have nothing to wear and very little time to shop. Does anyone have any specific suggestions? I live in NYC so I know I have a lot of options but shopping on a budget for specific items is not my forte.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Danielle, you're in luck because just about every store in town is having a huge sale right now. There isn't much around where you live, but where do you work? May be I can recommend a store nearby. What type of party is it? I already know you don't like skirts and dresses, so pants it is. But I need to know how casual or dressy. Also what's your budget?

Is it a White ball? I think those are even more formal than black tie.

One of my friends is throwing himself a birthday party in the style of P-Diddy and wants everyone in white clothes. The attire is as casual or as fancy as you want to make it. I actually would be willing to wear a dress or skirt because I am more likely to use a white dress or skirt vs. white pants. Julie, I work near 72nd and Broadway (westside). I checked out the Banana Republic, the New York Look, and Intermix (WOW expensive). My budget ... I don't want to spend more than $70 total on the entire outfit.

$70 is totally doable. Ok, what did you think of clothes in Banana (so that I can get an idea of what you like)? There's also Club Monaco nearby but I can't remember if they have any white in their winter collection.

Another store you can check out during lunch or on your way home is Filene's Basement. You'd be more likely to find a top there than bottom but it's worth a try. On the weekend, I'd recommend Loehmann's (18th & 7th) and Bloomingdales (whichever one is more convinient). If you find a great bottom with little budget left for the top, stop by H&M. The key to shopping on a budget is to avoid regular price racks altogether and just head directly to the sales section.

Well everyone was complaining about the all white theme of the party that the birthday boy decided to let folks wear jeans! So now all I have to find is a cute white top. That should be a lot easier. thanks for the help
