  • Specialty picking made easy

Hey all, there's been a few threads recently regarding specialty choices for spouses. I found this decision tree to be funny but pretty true. Some specialties are absent, and fellowships are not included. Enjoy!

Funny. Hopefully it wasn't made by an actual doc who can't spell pediatrics or anesthesia.

I think that's the British spelling. It's from the BMJ, I believe.

It figures. They spell esophagus "oesophagus" .... crazy Brits!

My husband thought it was hilarious - AND it was quite accurate for his choice!

The only quibble I have with the flow chart is that it needs further "options" for surgery and internal medicine subspecialties.

I love how if you get through Sane, Hardworking, and Nice, suddenly your only two options are Hates Adults and Hates Children.

Cool! It's pretty accurate, although DH got Medicine. I caught him printing out the page to bring to work??!?!? I guess he wants to see if he's not the only anesthesiologist who gets the "wrong" specialty. What a nut. Alison

Russ, I've been meaning to compliment you on the avatar! What bike is that? Looks vaguely Cannondale-ish?
It's a Felt F70...my baby. Dumped on it for the first time last week and immediately leaped up to check the bike. Then realized I was bleeding. Gotta have priorities.
