I haven't been watching, but that tag line is hysterical!!

Getting to be a doctor's wife is like that short story you read in 6th grade. Where the town is having a lottery and everyone is upset about it. As the young reader you can't figure out why anyone would be upset about winning a bunch of money. Then at the end you learn that the lottery "winner" gets stoned by the village, or fed to a dragon, or something like that.

Has anyone told her that getting to be a doctor's wife can sometimes be a lot like being fed to a dragon?

I think he will pick Sarah from Tennessee. She is the only one, that I can see, who doesn't have major issues. We all know doctors need wives that are strong, grounded, and can handle kids (big ones like their dawkter husbands).

Besides most of the doctors I know are married to someone else in health care or teachers. It's just how it works.

No way he will choose Moana. She has been made out to be the villain this season, deserved or not. Sarah is the sweet one who is his friend. He's a logical thinking dawkter and he will choose the cute school teacher over the emotional vamp.

Is this something that women still aspire to?? Who ARE these women, and do any of them actually end up married to doctors? Am I the only one here who's shocked as heck to find herself married to an (almost) doctor? I always thought I'd marry a high school teacher or something like that.

It reminds me of Toni Morrison's book Song of Solomon--there's this one character who's raised to be the perfect trophy wife for someone in the burgeoning black professional class. Her parents get her the perfect education, perfect manners, perfect grooming. Her whole aspiration is to marry well. Only what happens is that none of those men, who are facing this big task, want a wife like that. They need someone who has a clue and can help them as a partner in the trenches as they make this new kind of life. So they all pass her over for women who are more hardworking and more self-made like themselves. (And she kind of wilts on the vine for a long time and is unhappy until she finally wakes up and gives up this ideal of who she was supposed to marry.)

Maybe it's all the show and the "contestants" don't actually have that attitude, but isn't aspiring to "marry a doctor" the exact thing that would make any sensible doctor run the other direction?

(I guess making the point that The Bachelor is ridiculous is kind of shooting fish in a barrel, though.)

Everyone that I know who is familiar with all of the trials and tribulations I went through with the medical establishment is FLOORED that I am married to a doctor. I figure it's karma.

Sort of on the topic of marrying a doctor. I caught about half of episode of According to Jim last night, where the younger sister is planning her wedding to "The Doctor." Leterally every time should could, this girl would stick The Doctor into the sentence. I really wanted to reach into the TV and slap some sense into her.

Last night they had the "Dr. Travis Stork" and "The Doctor" kicking. Annoying. It is great that Alli G.'s (the medical oncologist) was discussed again. Her meltdown must have really bothered her as she denied showing up for the recap show.

Anyway, I say he takes Sarah from Tennessee.
