Ryan is watching cartoons. I am not about to remind him that it is Mother's Day. I know he made me something at school because I wasn't allowed to check his backpack on Friday. Am I the only one who thinks those things are cheesy? I would rather he gave me a hug than another fridge magnet or card that his teacher directed him to do. Wow, am I a bitchy mom or what?

Alexia is still asleep. I think on this Mother's Day she will, being two and all, still prefer that it was her father that was getting her out of bed than same old boring Mom. Couldn't one of my children prefer me to Chad?

Chad is at his house (the hospital) seeing his other family (he sees them more than us). I hope he will be home some time today. He told me he slept an hour last night. Fabulous.

I will spend today grocery shopping and cleaning the house. The house is a giant disaster because I have refused to clean it in over a week because it was promised to me as a birthday present. Oh well. Just what every mom loves to do on her day. I hope everyone's days are starting better than mine. I don't know why I have expectations at all for holidays anymore.

DS2 is being a terror, DS1 and DH are sleeping, I'm drinking re-heated coffee, and I have to work today.

I feel for you Heidi. My big hope is that I will come home to a clean house.

DS1 gave me a hand painted terra cotta pot with an impatien planted in it on Friday for Mother's Day.

I'm not technically a mom yet, but my pups are being good and getting along! The house is clean because Russ cleaned it for our closing/walkthrough last week. He's in Shreveport trying to find us a place to live! I have plans to shop with my sister today.

I have a pot of sweet peas (I think) from the school project and some cards. The kids slept late for them, 7:15 and 8:00, which was great. That also means that everyone will be in a good mood today.

Heidi -- I'm still working on that Mary Poppins trick of snapping my fingers and getting the room the clean itself. I'll let you know when I have it figured out!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mother's here!

I tried to think of a really creative thing for my kids to make this year because I hate giving moms the same cheesy crap each year. This year we printed a magnet photo of the kids and then I asked them their favorite recipie and how to make it and wrote it out on a recipie card. They were really funny. Each one had the child's handprint on the back and was laminated. Hope they like them.

Heidi, Happy Mother's Day my dear. I'm new to the boards, not a mom, but wish that I could help make your day a better one. If I knew you, lived closer and could, I'd make you leave the house and I'd clean it. Keep your chin up, eventually your babies will realize how very special you are to them.

A belated Happy Mother's Day to everyone! DS took a 3 hour nap in the morning (he never naps that long) so for the first time in a long time I was able to take a nice, long bubble bath and paint my toenails.
