  • Hello from Alaska!

The computer is in the room the boys and I are staying in, so I couldn't help but check in. Official addict.

I am proud to say the boys did BEAUTIFULLY on the flights. The fell asleep w/about 2.5 hours left to go on the 2nd leg, and save a few rough moments after we landed when I had to wake them up to walk off the plane, they did really well.

Today we went to the Alaskan Native Heritage Center and the Anchorage Zoo - to the tune of $4 due to coupons and various mother's day discounts (my friend rocks!). We're having lots of fun, have already gotten some great pictures and we're off to Seward tomorrow!

    Happy Mother's Day all!

I spent five years of my childhood in Anchorage and vividly remember the zoo as one of the highlights of being there. I hope that your children continue to be great for you and that you have fun! Seward isn't all that exciting, but it's pretty to look at!!

today we went downtown for breakfast, then to a kids museum call the "imaginarium" ... not the greatest kids museum, but they had fun and ran off some steam. the weather perked up this afternoon, so we biked the "coastal trail". It was fun, but there I was w/my out of shape self hauling 100 lbs of kids again. Beautiful, beautiful views though. Truly amazing sites. It's been great to see my friend, too. She is one of my dearest, and we haven't lived near each other for 12 or 13 years. I was a little nervous about the long stay after spending so little time "in person" but it's really been going well. We can both tell when the other is tired or edgy and have been good about backing off / giving space. plus it's so easy to see that she put so much into the planning of this. Not to mention the "guest room" is just lovely. A great bed, pillows, and ultra-soft / cozy sheets / blankets. It's just such a treat to snuggle in there.

tomorrow we're going on base (friend's husband is Air Force - deployed) to a "family day" and the kids are going to get to walk around in a C 130, which they will love.

I'll have lots more photos to post when we get home, but this computer is just painfully slow.

I've talked to dh a couple times - he's subsisting on cereal and PB/J.
