When I bottom out at a size 2 (haven't gotten there yet after this last pregnancy) I sometimes have the same problem. It's a weird one, I agree. The fact that I'm 5'5" doesn't help things because I am way too tall and broad-shouldered to fit the petite departments. And, to top it off, some stores seem to think that thin women should all dress like 19 year old street walkers.

I second whoever suggested Anthropologie. You'll find very nice, high end, unique and beautiful clothing in your size range.

I think you should also keep your options open by reminding yourself that whatever you find you can take to a professional and have tailored to fit your specific height and body shape.

EDIT: J.Crew also has a really beautiful line of elegant formal wear you might consider. Really gorgeous stuff. But, pricey.

Oh yeah, and Kelly is right: Ann Taylor Loft DOES carry size 0. They also have some very pretty summer dresses out.

But, I know your mom is concerned that you have something to wear that no one else will have seen or perhaps be wearing themselves.

Something else you might consider is wearing something from outside of your culture. Saris are gorgeous for example! You would have to be very confident to do something like that - but you would definitely be unique!

I think I'd feel more confident naked - and I own several saris and am married to a hindu! I'll wear saris to Indian events, but would only maybe wear one to an ultra-formal non-Indian event. And I would be toting my Indian husband.

Jenn, why? They are gorgeous and you look great in them. I have to agree that being size 0 should look pretty good naked.

they're totally slimming, which I love - and I do enjoy wearing them to Indian events. wearing them to non-Indian things just smacks of "attention seeking" to me. Even dh's cousin's (our age) will not wear Indian clothes to non-Indian events. My SIL does wear them to non-Indian events, but she is all about attention seeking - in EVERY SINGLE THING SHE DOES.

Again - the bride can do whatever she wants. It's her party!

I'm late chiming in but I too have this issue. I'm 5'2" and usually wear a 0 or 2. Looks like you found a great dress but for future reference I always go to Ann Taylor LOFT or White House/Black Market - both have great stuff usually in small sizes.

                Have a great time!

I was just about to suggest White House Black Market. Love their stuff!
