A good friend of mine is a 4th grade teacher and we have exchanged birthday and Christmas gifts ever since WE were in 5th grade. As I was cleaning out my bookshelf for our move next week, I came across 3 years of presents from her--children's books. The woman has given me nothing but children's books for the past 3 years that she's been a schoolteacher! I don't even have kids! Am I supposed to enjoy these books?! Just curious what's compelling her to give me these...

They're recent ones. One of them is about an ogre of some kind--I honestly haven't read it. I love children's books; I have some old favorites from when I was little, but that's the extent of my connection to them.
"Caps for Sale" is one I used to ask for ALL THE TIME. "Good Night Moon" used to freak me out because there were so many shadows and a mouse. It was spooky to me!married to an anesthesia attending

That seems very weird. I could see giving one or two classics if you know the recipient had some sort of special fondness for them, but otherwise giving children's books to somebody without kids seems a little strange to me.Awake is the new sleep!
