My DH went to med school on this program. They were very good to us finacially. No school loans to repay and even provided a stipen during the rough years. But now here it is 5 years later and it is not looking so great. My husband works in a level 1 trauma and is used to the hectic schedule and cases you don not see just any where. I feel that he is not going to be happy with the opportunity. To revoke on program would be immediate payback with ridiculous penalties. And the sites tend to be in more rural areas. I just want us to make the right choice. I could not wait to get out of phoenix, but now that decisions need to be made I am afraid of going to rural. Any input would be great !!!

Northern Exposure looked like fun.
I'm sure it will be an adventure - the good kind. I think it is a great option. I'd love to NOT have all those school loans to pay back and you and DH will be making a difference.
Is he worried about losing skills or job opps on the other side of payback? That would be a concern unless the payback is seen as a good thing by employers - not a detriment.Angie
