Beer cheese soup

But I've gotta say - I like beer, and I like cheese, but "beer cheese soup" sounds like the most horrifying thing.
No offense, of course.

It's so hot outside! I'm having a hard time picturing beer cheese soup this time of year. Just a random craving?

There's a microbrewery that we frequent that has a fantastic Cheddar Ale soup. I'm actually not a beer drinker, but their soup is delicious.

I don't have a recipe, I just thought I'd throw that out there for those who think the combination sounds repulsive...
