  • A person who doesn't suck

A little over a week ago, I came back from Wisconsin physically and emotionally exhausted and shaking off frustrations of dealing with people who suck.

Because I ended up catnapping on the plane, I forgot my library book in the seat pocket. I remembered a few times before we landed to grab it and put it in my suitcase but forgot. When I got home, I called Northwest lost and found, hoping that since I remembered right away I could get it back. They never called back. I checked my library account everyday thnking that maybe, just maybe, someone would return it. I checked again this morning but the book hadn't been returned. I decided to just suck it up and pay for the hardcover book today. Somewhere in the hour and half that elapsed between checking my account and running a few other errands, the book had been returned! When I went to pay it was off my account.

This made my day! As frustrated as I was feeling when I got off the plane, someone, either an employee or another traveler found the book and eventually returned it for me. Not everyone sucks!

that is great! what a good person!

let's all try to remember - and "pay it forward" b/c every time WE don't suck, that's one less person who sucks! (insert talking in circles emoticon).

I heard that Karma was the bad and that Darma was the good. Anyone know if this is true?

Anyone else have a good samaritan story????

not that I know of. karma is karma - there is good and bad. what you put out into the universe comes back to you, bad or good.

That's really neat that someone went out of their way to return your book.

When we were in Prague six years ago we stumbled on a Brooklyn Public Library book in one of the bookstores. The owner of the store said he got it at an estate sale a few years back. The book was checked out from the library in the 50's. We didn't think it was worth buying it just to bring it back and return it though.

I let my son play with my ring at the museum. He lost it. Someone returned it to the front desk. Nice. Yeah, I know, it *was* the museum.

Is there an emoticon for jealous?! I was born in LA and I still have a lot of family out there. I am going to take SO during his winter break since he has never been and I go every year. I love CA! (You said you moved right? Did you have to do a lot with liscensing?? SO says that unless he gets a residency at UCSF we can't move to CA because it's a tremendous hassle with liscensing in that state vs. everywhere else. How true is that?)
