Has anyone heard from DC Jenn? All of the rain in the DC / Maryland area has me wondering. I know they were supposed to be heading out ... just wondering if the house sale is still good, etc.

    Thinking of you girlfriend!

Don't know about Jenn, but I know about the rain!!! It's been every day for almost a week and a half and the thunder has been so loud it shakes the pictures on my walls!! My poor puppy!! I'm sure she's okay but I bet it put a damper (no pun intended - haha) in the move!

I was wondering the same thing. She is usually so active on here it is very obvious that she is out of pocket for either moving or taking cover from the storm. Hope your doing okay!!!

I think the schedule she published before she left had 4 days of travel....and then there's settling in. She posted after the rain on the goodbye thread . She had 8 inches of rain in the basement and hadn't packed yet. If she left after that.....we still have a few Jenn-less days.

Here's wishing you well. (and hoping you stop at a hotel with wireless!!)

            Hey gang-

greetings from San Antonio- we're here. Nikolai and my mom arrived today and I'm happy to report that all animals are accounted for!

Our stuff isn't here yet, but that's OK- we brought enough basics to get through.

The rain totally sucked and we ended up cleaning up mud, muck and a stream of water until 5am on Monday, Tuesday it started all over again (seeping in through the window wells in the basement- at one point there was seven inches of water in the window wells!). We looked at each other, decided that we didn't feel like battling mother nature for a second straight night- made a pizza and went to bed. When we left on Wednesday, everything was dry.

            Thanks for the well wishes!

            Jenn

So glad to read that you made it well and intact! Happy unpacking and settleing as soon as the stuff arrives. You'll have to tell me the missing cat story some day when you have time.

Jenn lost her cat to careless movers. Very, very sad. They packed the cat up with everything else. He didn't make it. You can probably find the story with a search. Poor Jenn has retold it many times - I think because it's so hard to believe and so sad! Moral of the story: ALWAYS closely moniter, isolate or kennel your animals when there are movers packing your place.

Glad all mammals are accounted for, and that the DC house was dry when you left. Thanks for checking in! We were starting to get worried.

At least now in SA you won't have to worry about rain ... :!
