I don't think there is a catch. I know several people who get their subscriptions off eBay. They seem to have very positive reviews too! I don't have any subscriptions at the moment unless you count all the medical journals that come for Chad, but I was thinking of ordering a few.

No catch...mostly. I got a great deal on Fine Cooking off on ebay.
The crappy thing is that I paid for it twice. I bought the first time from a seller who scammed me. It's a great trick with the magazines. Because the magazines arrive 8-12 weeks after you order, it is too late to make a complaint with Ebay. And because they make it *so* easy to get customer feedback, it is hard to complain about. The seller had long since left by the time I caught on. I think that by the time it dawned on me that I never got magazines I ordered, it was over 12 weeks.
BUT -- the good news is that it worked the second time, no problem and it is a great deal! I was able to get another magazine bundled with it for a great deal as well.

We get a lot, I think.....my kids sold magazines as a fundraiser for school, so we got a bunch.
Time
Family Fun
Indianapolis Monthly
Midwest Living
Southern Living
Redbook
Budget Travel
Reader's Digest
National Geographic Kids
Ranger Rick
Sports Illustrated Kids
Highlights
ACOG Green Journal (I don't know if that is the real name of it!)
Contemporary OB/Gyn
Christian Doctors' Digest
Federal Practitioner (even though he isn't anymore)
our alumni magazines
and I often buy People and/or Us.
I have to say, though, that they all (except "Federal Practitioner") get read, so I don't feel TOO guilty.
