oh yeah. i'm all over buying that French house for my weekender! now that my "summer home" in Cleveland is gone, I do need to pick up a little something else, after all!

Actually, I had a friend in college who did a lot of research on buying a private island in the middle of the Pacific somewhere. He said you can buy an entire island (approx 10x10 miles) for just a million bucks. When you divide that buy all of us, that's like a small condo each.

yeah - the problem with the island is then the logistics of building there. (I've thought this through). I like the little French chateau (it even has a NAME!) ... for starters, at least.

I was laughing about this with SO last night and just how cool that would actually be. (He was also friends with the "island" guy.) Then it occured to me that it would actually be possible and we could all vacation there for two weeks in the summers and rent it out when noone would be there. (We'd have it paid for in no time!)
