  • This really cool band...

Today I was in line at Starbucks (paying out the pediatrician bribe) listening to the 80s music they were playing. When I got to the register, the cashier (er, barrista) commented that she was sooooo glad they were playing one her new favorite artists. It sounded familiar and I asked who it was -- turns out it was Kate Bush. I mention that I like her voice. She goes on the tell me that she heard about her from this guy, Robert Smith, who was in another 80s band called....The Cure.

You don't say...is it really cool? Should I check it out? She told me this as if it was her big secret, discovering this ancient treasure....That or she thought I was SO old or SO uncool that I would have never heard of it myself. Maybe that was her good deed for the day. :>

I don't know how I am going to keep a straight face when my kids make these discoveries themselves.
