I compartmentalize and keep a pretty strict schedule. Truth be told i do much better under pressure as long as I get my month in the winter and three months in the summer I like working hard for short bursts with lengthyish breaks in between.

Mediator situation is frustrating. We are still waiting on a meeting date. It was supposed to be this week, but I haven't been able to get ahold of anyone to even figure out what the hold up is. James is supposed to start school a week from today. We are just going to hold him out until this is settled.

Cool part about the daycare job is, even when I am not working I get $4/an hour child care if I need it

Sounds like you've got a great compromise. And I was wondering how you do all that too -- in 30 hours, no less.

Good luck with the mediator situation.

30 hours may be a bit optimistic...I guess it depends on how much I want to coast on the classes I am very familiar with teaching

              Hi,

Just to add another quick thought to the mix....How intent are you on having that second child quickly? Do you feel like you could table this another 6 months until you got the James' school situation, career issues, etc. more under control? Working with one child presents challenges. Working with two children at two different places is a whole 'nother ball of wax. Sometimes giving that older child more time to become independent is just what the doctor ordered.

I'm glad you were able to find a schedule that makes you happy. Wow, the $4 an hour childcare is a nice perk...maybe you'll be able to work in a little YOU time.

I know it sounds like a lot of stuff...but the truth is it is a lot of different, but not exactly a lot together. Part of why I wanted to hang on to the daycare situation is for the second child...and the way things are going it will be at least a few months before we a pregnant anyways (clomid and all that)...I thought there was no better way to make some money and be close by working at the daycare! The nice part is that everything is contract work. I get a new contract at the beginning of each term, so no job is longer than a few months. Even if I did get pregnant right away and became overwhelmed, I am done Dec 3ish and can pick up what I feel comfortable with in the middle of Jan. As difficult as it is to explain DH's professional life, I feel like mine always generates more questions that no on can relate to...at least everyone has been to the doctor's office.
