Who goes on to check out dream homes or locations?

I like looking all over the country. Sometimes I think it will help us decide where to settle. Other times I just like to see pics of homes. Or is this wierd to be doing when I am not actually house hunting?

I do the same thing too! I love seeing what different areas have to offer. We aren't moving until next year but I still check it out at last once a week.

      Guilty!

I have found real estate sites that are a little faster and easier to use for Oregon and Colorado and often use those instead. But realtor.com is great for other places.

We were up until 1am this weekend surfing. Mostly because we're so tired of living in 700 square feet that even 1200 square feet sounds like luxury. Bot we also checked out Pittsburgh, Santa Barbara (where it turns out we can afford a tent in someone else's backyard), Lake Placid, Palmdale (CA, where the MIL is- because I wanted to prove that everything is BAD there)
        and Seattle.

It's fun but can be depressing when you literally can't move!

I've done this for YEARS and saved pictures --- for some day.

Well that "someday" is now because I am using the same pictures I have saved to build our dream house.

You are perfectly normal. I stop at open houses occasionally...just to "look".
And I have compared online in different areas as well. It gives me something to look forward to!

Guilty. However, when I look I'm trying (if possible) to quell my fears about the possibility of moving to a particular location because of the match. I.E. if we move to X city we'll be in a 450 sq. foot hovel with no heat and hot plate for dinner preparation.

OMG, you have no idea how much I've been spending on realtor.com lately.

I like the function on the front page that lets you see what your neighbor's houses sold for...and gives the estimated value for your home.

                    This is my favorite site.

                    http://www.billbeck.com/

Growing up I admired many of these houses that are for sale. I know right where some of them are, watched them get renovated. There are about 4 listed for sale that I would just LOVE to have. There are two or three in the archives that I LOVE.

I just want to go home.

Oh, another site I frequent is http://www.mckernongroup.com/

Jack McKernon is THE nicest guy. He restores houses so beautifully. Many of his restoration pictures are done to houses and barns I grew up near.

Looking at real estate all over the country is my favorite way to relax when I feel overwhelmed. It gives me something to look forward to: a house of our own, actually being WITH my fiance...
