Alison's post about the Putzfrau made me want to make sure MY understanding of "putz" in Yiddish was correct. So, I googled, and found this AWESOME site!

AND ... I did not know that Shrek is a Yiddish word! Oh ... I LOVE it.

I got my room-mate from college's fiance The Idiot's Guide to Yiddish as a shower gift.

Her mom LOVED it. So Kevin read sections out loud to us as the party wound down. There are some very evocative words in Yiddish.

Did you know that "beatnik" and "neatnik" (words that have the suffix -nik) are Yiddish?

And the term "cop." As in "to cop a feel" is said to *maybe* be related to the Yiddish word for "to steal."
