      In DH's Air Force/Army OB/Gyn program, all of the fourth years functioned as the "chief" on whatever service they were on. It is just what the fourth year residents were called.

        This is exactly how it works here.

        PGY5 Both residents are chiefs. One at the VA for six months and one at Richland for 6 months.

          We are the same.....we have 3 ortho residents and they each do 4 months in their 5th and final year....Mine is already done and glad to be I think, here they do all of the scheduling and vacations requests are a pain in the butt......not to mention the other "stuff"
