  • I quit my job!

So, after 2 years of working as a RN in an ICU (and hating every moment of it), I saw my boss today and quit. This has been a huge ongoing struggle with me...it never seemed like the right time, or my hubbie and me wouldn't be able to go on a vacation, etc...I just did it today.

I'm still going to work PRN (the committment is 4 days a month), but that is sooooooo much better. I just can't believe how my attitude has changed in the past 24 hours knowing I'm not bound to be in that crappy place 3 nights a weeks, every other weekend. It completely ruled my life and, wow, I'm happy.

To top it all off, I went and got my haircut today. It had been 4 months. It's a season of change and I'm really excited. I just thought I'd share.

Congrats- it is such a sweet feeling to dump some joint that's been pissing you off (almost as good as dumping some jerk!) and I always celebrate life-affirming occasions with a really SHORT haircut. Makes me feel like singing "I am woman"

      Enjoy the relief!

Wow, I admire your courage to change what isn't working in your life. Can you spread some of that my way?

Congrats on the proactive life change! Wouldn't have anything to do with residency application time, would it?

                            Congratulations!!!

I know how fantastic it feels!!! I did it 2 weeks before I came over here to Boston, I was fed up always struggling to get my time off when I needed it and having to take holidays in February and missing all DS hospital appointments etc because the ER I worked in just made it so difficult! I've taken a job away from the hospital for the moment thats 9-5 so that I can concentrate on studying for NCLEX-RN to come to america and be with SO.

                            Congratulations again!!
