  • chat room access?

Just curious.....how does one get into the chat room (don't see a link)? I thought I read that this forum had one?

I don't think we've ever had a successful one - my understanding is that they take up a lot of bandwidth and it was under utilized.

Yeah, we've had them in the past and they chewed up space and people are rarely on at the same times. We've tried designated chat times, discussion groups, etc. and inevitably we would reach the same conclusion. or the site would crash and the conclusion would be reached for us.

We do have private access forums. We ask that people belong for a while- post often and when you hit 50 + or - a few, access is granted to the private sections. We did this because of some spammers and also so that people can share more private information.

We've toyed with the idea of reviving the chat. Heidi has had some luck with a program works with this bulletin board software. We actually thought we might try to set it up for our first book group discussion.....but then the site's server went down for weeks. I think that was a cosmic message. Chat always goes bad for us. We may be brave in the future, but don't hold your breath.
