  • I hate internship!!

I hate his internship!!! OK so it hadn't been tooo bad....in fact his schedule had been fairly decent...until this month. It's the first "ward month" and it blows! He's either not home or asleep!!! Boo! And when he comes home and is awake...he wants "alone time" so he can "decompress". Poo on decompression! And he almost refuses to go back to the hospital with me to see the baby. "I work there all day, I don't want to go back." He does visit the little guy a few times during the day, but still. I want him to go with me.

Ugh and now his car isn't acting right...so he's taking mine...which means unless I go with him in the morning, I have to wait for him to get home before I can go see the little guy....or do anything. Looks like I'm going to be chauffeuring Russ back and forth from the hospital. Yuck.

And he agreed to do the laundry and cook and clean dishes etc while I recover from my C-section....yeah right. Ha! Today he had the nerve to imply that I was milking the whole abdominal surgery thing. Don't get me wrong, I feel great. Most of the time like nothing has happened...but everyone keeps telling me to "take it easy" and that they "wished they listened to their docs." So how do I really know what I'm supposed to do? Anyway, today I said "screw it" because the house is beginning to look like a dump again....so I am doing some laundry and I did some dishes and cleaned the kitchen. Much better.

Oh and Russ is sleeping right now....his plan for the day involved mowing the lawn and bathing the pups...methinks it isn't getting done...AGAIN!

    Poo on cardiology!

Hey- think of it this way, two and half months are already done.

That's the only way I got through it. (but don't start thinking of it in reverse until you're past the halfway mark.)

I'm sending sympathetic vibes your way.

you HAVE to take it easy. i had three sections.....the third i did NOT take it easy. i ended up with an open incision,an infection, antibiotics, the worst pain i think i have ever felt ,and pain killers....that i couldnt take. duh! i had three babies to take care of.

so, my point. let the laudry pile, let the dishes sit, the the dog hair build up, and put you feet up, woman!!!!
oh and of course enjoy your baby!

Sorry Michele. Please take it easy, it is so tempting to push your body...but don't. Sorry that Russ is being, well, an ass. Intern year ROCKS!

We're in our first wards/call month too. So far it could be worse, but after he has a day off tomorrow that's his last break for the next two weeks; in the middle of which his folks are coming to visit. I have a very grumpy DH building up in there.

Like Jenn said, after this month we're a quarter of the way through internship!

I agree with TAKE IT EASY! Concentrate on healing, sleeping, and spending time with your son. I didn't take it easy the second C-Section and I really regretted it. Take care of Mom right now.

it's no fun. especially w/the added stress (and joy) of the early baby arrival.

try to allow yourself to relax, and I hope the car issue resolves inexpensively.

Sorry, Michele, that really blows. Intern year suck ass.

As for taking it easy, I second everyone's suggestions... Really, you should relax while you can before you bring the little guy home!!

Sorry to hear about the car and the inconvenience. Intern year does suck!

Oh the plus side, Daegan ("il duce") is doing great. Time to sleep again.
