So, I have hope for humanity.

I know you oldsters will remember this story but the condensed version for you newbies is that during my husband's first year of fellowship, he was seeing an adult neurology patient. Also with him was a 4th year medical student. (key points to remember- military so 4th year medical students are lower rank than fellows. and obviously PGY4 vs. M4 would indicate a certain level of difference in professional experience.)

My husband asked the medical student to do a H & P on the patient. (History and Physical). and the medical student not only refused, but refused in front of the patient and also infront of the patient told my husband to F Off. Oh, bad, bad, bad. After my husband had calmed down enough to speak...he ending up speaking to the Program Director, etc. (I think he ended up doing the H & P, too)

So, clearly, this medical student had issues- but yet was accepted into the residency program. (we all think it's because of the severity of the shortage of neurologists that they took him) He wreaked havoc during his PGY1. He backstabbed, he lied, he manipulated.

and he was kicked out of the program. and is now doing his military payback (because if he thought for a moment that he'd not have to payback Uncle Sam? Right...) at a walk-in clinic.

So, yes, he'll finish the payback without having done a residency. Which means that he'll have to do that as a civilian on his own dollar.

Guess being an ass really doesn't pay.

Holy crap - I must have missed this the first time around. Glad that they finally got rid of him.

        Wow! :>
It's a shame the military couldn't do without all this drama the first time around.
