  • Official Rant thread....

    I hate it when.....

people call me on their cell phone while they are driving and then begin to describe the car next to them, traffic conditions and what is going on in the traffic or order from the drive-thru while talking to me.

Aren't I suzy sunshine.....can you tell I just got one of those phone calls? :>

    Keep my rant going!

i hate it when we dress the kids up, take them to the park in order to take pictures, only to find that the camera battery is dead. i also hate that dh always has this way about him that makes me feel like shit...you know...because the camera is my soul responsibility and i have nothing else to do during the day but charge batteries.

I hate that it's bulk trash week so all of San Antonio has packed up the pick-up trucks and are cruising up and down my neighborhood looking through people's trash. Jeez people- its palm fronds and siding. Period. there's nothing good, move on.

I work two jobs, during the day I teach and three nights a week I work at a store till 8. I take the subway home and have to change trains from the red to orange lines. The stop where I switch has a short escalator down to my train. I HATE the dummies who stand on the left thereby blocking my way and making me miss my train so I have to wait 15 more minutes for the next train home when it's already 8:45 and I haven't been home since 7:30am! GET OUT OF THE WAY!

I hate that my responses to stress are eating and shopping. Both are things I need to stop doing.

I hate that I tend to take out my moods on my kids. The easiest way for me to avoid this is to allow them to play video games all morning - which isn't good for anyone either.

I hate that I'm not a particulary good housekeeper, so I often feel like I'm not holding up my end of the bargain.

OMG, i just heard this on the news. WTF is wrong with this world. This makes three school shooting (?) in the past two weeks. So sad, and the amish for crying out loud...they're the most peaceful, keep to themselves type. How unfortunate and so so sad.

I hate it when family schedules a wedding two months away, and expects you to drop everything for them. We were asked "Uh were getting married on a Wednesday morning. Do ya think ya can be there?"

Dh told his brother- nope, if you get married on a Saturday morning I can guarantee it. Brother's reply was "Well I guess we will pray that you can be there." Luckily they changed the wedding to a Saturday. Boy is this brother in for a wake up call when he gets into medical school. Apparently he thinks that b/c dh is a doctor that he can drop everything at a moments notice, take a non-paid day, and be at everyone's beckoning call.

                      Oh how I wish......

I just hate dealing with stupid people. How can someone who went to college and has a job be so stupid.

Also hate having to defend our decision to finally move from the city. Some of our friends and family really don't understand why we'd want to move after all this time. After all if we could "afford" it during med school and residency why are we suddenly worried about affording it once DH hits six digits. But I'm just so tired of renting a crapshoot filled with IKEA stuff. I want my own place with nice furniture. I'm sick of peeling walls, unreliable elevators and ancient plumbing. Is that so much to ask for?

It's insane that you have to defend that. What you choose to spend your $ on is your own business - especially home wise. The money isn't what it's all about, and the crappy little places aren't all that you're paying for, either. You pay for the restaurants around the corner, the atmosphere, the life style. If that kind of stuff isn't as important to you anymore, then it's not worth the money!

                            Happy New Year, BTW!

I'm not surprised by Vishenka's rant at all - my aunt's MIL grew up in Jersey, just across from NYC. She has NO idea why anyone would ever want to leave the NYC area, goes ON and ON about how boring the midwest is and how she would never want to live in a landlocked state. She's not the first I've met from that area either - they just don't honestly understand why anyone would want to live somewhere different.
