I'm already feeling the love for you Jodi.

A ticker is the countdown thing some people have underneath their signatures. Kelly's is counting down to the end of GS residency, Chrisada's is counting to her due date, etc. Jenn (jloreine) says she has nothing to look forward to so she removed her ticker, and I'm happy w/little mr. tappy foot in mine for right now.

          Thanks!

Facing the end of a seven year general surgery residency is surreal, exciting, and a slightly terrifying. Yes, I occasionally feel like the abused dog who won't leave its master in regards to my feelings about the regime....Oops, did I say regime, I meant residency. The prospect of more training makes this step somewhat bittersweet. Still, from where I sit it looks like things may just be a tad better for our next stage (more money, closer to home, etc, cheaper COL, happier DH, only two years, etc.).

A small, selfish part of me doesn't like that my ticker isn't about me, me, me! I considered counting down another marathon (Cincinnati 2008?). However, the end of a general surgery residency represents an event worth marking and celebrating.

The next year promises to have lots of changes!

            Kelly,

The end of Gen. Surg. is as much about you as it is your DH. REALLY. We all know he couldn't have done this alone and in this case, the end should be celebrated as BOTH of your big days. I was pleasantly surprised how many people congratulated ME along with DH during his graduation dinner.

Residency is a team effort in your case.

I hope this last year goes well -- AND FAST!

ITA! At the graduation dinners here all of the residents get choked up thanking their wives and the chairman brings roses, one for each spouse which all of the residents give to their wives regardless of their year.

You better beleive the end of a residency (esp. a long one) is just as much about the spouse! We're all counting down with you!
