  • Sock Hop

I'm going to a "sock hop" (50s themed party) this month and am trying to figure out what to wear. A poodle skirt would be cute I think but way too hard to find and not very practical to buy since I couldn't use it for anything else.
I was thinking of a cardigan with a brooch or embellished button, hair in a high ponytail with a ribbon, scarf around the neck...not sure about the pants/skirt bottom part though. Think that would look 50s??
    Any ideas??

Do you have a pair of black capri's? Those with white bobby socks and tennis shoes would be cute with the top you've described.

These friends always throw the best parties so I'm sure it will be lots of fun. buycostumes.com is a great site - it's hard to tell which sizes will fit though. This one looks cute but there's only one size and I'm definitely not an average sized woman - too short - so it will probably be too long!!

I think my legs are too short to pull off capris with socks and sneakers! '"
What are the other styles of pants they wore back then?

What about the ones that hit right below the knee - I don't think they're called capris, are they?

Do you think I can still wear heels with that? I want to minimize my ummm petiteness

Look up photos from the movie Grease and just recreate one of the outfits you see! Good luck and have fun!
