  • Purse questions.....Vishenka???? Anyone????

I'm almost done with diaper bags -- DS just turned 2 and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I like purses...mid-sized....that look good. I like the idea of one brown and one black BUT some bags are SO EXPENSIVE.

Where do I start to look?
What brands look good but aren't $350.00 or MORE?

    Any sources???
Anybody LOVE the bag they have?

I should add that I don't like really "busy" bags.
I'm open and need some educating!!!

Flynn - I like Kate Spade. She has some very classic looking bags and while she does have some that are over $350 she has a good amount that are less than that.

Another place to check is overstock.com, they usually have quite a few designer bags for less than retail.

I was just going to suggest Zappos. They have a pretty extensive collection of Francesco Biasia. He's a really great Italian designer that isn't too well known in the States. I like his bags because I feel that I'm paying for quality instead of name and because I end up with an interesting bag. While Cole Haan, Kate Spade, Kenneth Cole, DKNY, BCBG, Coach all fall into your criteria, their bags more widely carried and aren't as unique. Another good site is SmartBargains, they also carry Tosca Blu and Tiffany & Fred, which should fit your budget. My only problem with Overstock is that they charge a hefty restocking fee if you want to return an item, while Zappos pays for shipping on both ends. They also have tons of pictures and exact measurements.

Don't forget that if you shop on the web, go through the site of the airline though which you have a frequent flyer account. Almost all airlines give extra miles for that. AA gives 3 miles for each dollar spent at Zappos.

Zappos seems good, but I've never bought from them. I like Bluefly, Searle, and Overstock.

My most favorite bag is a real gem. It is a black leather Adrienne Vittadini tote. I bought it five years ago, I carry it EVERY day, and it still looks brand new. I get compliments on it at least 2-3 times/week. I think mine is about a $300 bag but I got it at Marshall's. Lucky me!!
(I just looked at her website and mine doesn't look like any of the new stuff though. )

I still stand by Coach. My Coach stuff has been very sturdy and they make some very classic pieces that won't get old.

I have a Kate Spade tote but don't carry it much. It's almost TOO sturdy.

Vishenka, I love Francesco Biasia's stuff too!

          Um...Hello?
You're a dawker's wife, shouldn't you be carrying a Prada, Louie, Gucci or Fendi? :>

I like Coach and Douney/Bourke and Kate Spade. I love the few real ones I bought ages ago when I had a decent job. I have a few really great fakes (or maybe stolen and resold?) from Turkey - Hermes and LV that I use all the time.
I think every girl should have a great, classic bag. Combine it with jeans/tshirt and some nice shoes and your always in style!

I second the Coach bag. I have a few (back when DH and I were both working) and they are in excellent shape and you can go classic or add a little twist and still look fabulous! ** Zappos is also a great resource for online shopping.

I have no brand recommendations since I'm on my quest for the perfect bag as well. You can also check out http://www.ebags.com for an extensive collection of bags of any kind at different price levels.

I had fun browsing http://www.bagborroworsteal.com the other day. A fun idea for the bagaholics among us who always find something else that would just be "perfect".

Furla bags should fall into your range as well. I was also going to suggest smartbargains. You can also try yoox.com.
