    Assume the net is 125k...

Fly immediately to Kungur, Russia and re do the entire orphanage and pay the staff a seriously good wage.

Then, train all over Europe and then Asia and every where else.

Tell the Army to bite us and make them an offer that they can't refuse.

Buy all of the relatives a new house. Hire the best divorce lawyer in the country for my aunt.

Buy a fabulous house on Capitol Hill. Move home. Live there forever.

pay off debt, buy a browstone or two in nyc, buy a car and have it garaged, travel first class all over the world, go with dh on dr. without boarders, join gym with nice pool, never work again, get massages weekly and lots of skin treatments (hair removal, micro derm abrasion etc), donate money to animal shelters and cat causes, hire personal trainer, have a yard or roof with a green house, get fantastic hair cuts and invest.
Wife to Hand Surgeon just out of training, mom to two lovely kittys and little boy, O, born in Sept 08.

It's like you read my mind.

I would also do plastic surgery on me, get a personal trainer. Buy more real estate, probably move. Pay off debt!

I would lock it away in investments, at least half in a charitable, trust and not tell a soul.

At one point in my career, I worked with people that earned multiple million per year with some of them even wise enough to save it into significant portfolios. Money at that level is a terrible complication. It changes your relationships. It isolates you socially from your relatives and childhood friends. It puts your family in literal danger - - kidnapping, breakins, other risks. It makes things harder for your kids, the freedom of a large trust fund is simply overwhelming and independence-robbing.

I must admit before socking it all away I would buy a fabulous vacation house get-away and California closets, the one thing I can't justify spending money on but truly covet is those damn closet organizers . . .

                  Post-swim lesson perspective.

A fund for new swimsuits to be freely given away at the pool. No more poolside yoga in speedos, no more way too worn suits. :!
