  • Phew...

Hear that huge sigh of relief?

Short of finding something for the kids from MIL, I am DONE with their Christmas shopping. We went for a few hours yesterday to do store-type stuff and I just finished with everything online. MIL is mostly done, everything else can be done on-line.

Usually I am not this far ahead of the game but my due date and having time to do other Christmas-y stuff like getting a tree, taking photos, etc has me freaked out.

btw, if you are thinking of ordering anything from Gap.com, the website was down last night. They had a 10% off coupon code as a bonus for coming back. The code is "save10" and good through Nov 14.

    Wow! Go Nellie!

I have a list of what I am going to get almost everyone. Does that count?
Cranky Wife to a Peds EM in private practice. Mom to 5 girls - 1 in Heaven and 4 running around in princess shoes.

What? Huh? I know Christmas is sometime ... but I have to buy gifts?

I have one (yes - one) gift bought, and nothing planned. I suck.

This time last year I did not have anything done. I still have to shop for DH, dad, brother, finish MIL, finish mom, and a few friends. All of that can be done on-line and I have a few ideas brewing. But if Christmas was tomorrow, I could pull it off for the kids (minus the tree ) .

And, I sold my car on Friday! :ra: I was starting to get a little nervous about that.

The combo of the 12/21 due date, DH out of town, and not wanting to shop the weekend after Thanksgiving has got me - . I've got a few MIL things to wrap up as well. I think I've officially started the freaky get things done (NOW! ) nesting phase.

I'm actually making everyone's gifts this year (felt bags/satchels), except for dad and brother who will get apple itunes gift certificates and nephew who will be getting a savings bond. (he has a much wealthier aunt who attempts to assuage her guilt of not seeing him- ever- by buying gifts. So when he goes off to college and can pay for a textbook with 21 years of savings bonds- he can thank me)

and the members of my immediately family will be getting a house. I honestly don't think we'll get Nikolai anything- he has two sets of grandparents after all. (and he's 2. What does a two-year-old really need? He has toys/books/stuffed animals out the gazoo...) We'll probably do a stocking for him though.

I am almost done with my shopping too. I only have to buy for my 2 g'pas. One is really into computers and the other has everything anyone could ever want. Our gift always looks like junk next to his other gifts. I am making most of my gifts this year (family cookbook, hostess aprons, birthday books). We did golf balls for our stepdads. We picked up a few toys for the kids. DD is getting a wooden tea set and DS a guitar. And some small knick knack stocking stuffer kind of things. The grandparents are pretty good at buying more than enough for the kids. DH and I usually don't buy gifts for each other. DH got a guitar with the money my g'parents should (I hope) send for Xmas and I am getting a "puffer" jacket from JCrew. I used to work retail so I hate holiday shopping, it ruins the holiday spirit for me so I try to get my shopping done well before December. The year I had DD (5 days before Xmas) I finished all of my shopping before Thanksgiving's Day.
