  • i'm back and i'm married!

    hi everyone!

i am an official med spouse now! the wedding was amazing. it was more than i ever ever could have asked for in a million years.

it was completely worth the sweat and tears. the honeymoon was also amazing. it was so hard to return to "normal" life - not to mention not seeing my new husband much anymore. it was incredible to be with him literally 24 hours per day from the night of the wedding until he started work again.

normal life is hard. the first few days were much better because i was pumped from the wedding, being on the honeymoon, redecorating our house. now that i have only seen him for 4 waking hours and 10 sleeping hours since sunday night, i am kinda sad. i just want to see him. any words of advice? i know that i was much better at handling this from another state where i had my family and friends.

by the way, hi to all of the new people here! for those who don't know, i just got married to my true love! we were long distance for a couple of years while i was working on my master's (still working on it, kris!! ha!) and i would love to tell you what career i have; however, i am unemployed right now while i try to navigate this new city! my husband is in general surgery - 3 more years left.

    take care -

Congratulations on being an official medical spouse and welcome back!!!! Glad that the wedding went so well. Never had a doubt but it is always nice when it goes better than planned! Hang in there with the transition of being in a new place with a husband who is gone quite a bit. It will get better as you make friends and start to feel like your new place is home.

Congratulations and best of luck. I am sure you will have a wonderful life together. If it is any consolation my hubby and I just celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary and our 8th year of being together and he is in his 2nd year of a general surgery residency! You can do it too!

          Claudia,

Congrats! Newlyweds, awwww! While I find "Procrastinator" to be an endearing username because of my own procrastinating tendencies, I vote that your username be changed to the Honeymooner.

By the way, it is great to meet another Gen Surgery spouse.

Claudia, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Really, that is so wonderful! You must be so relieved to have it behind you, but it sounds like it went really, really well. I'm sure it must be a tough transition from wedding back to residency Time to throw yourself back into that thesis Since I haven't finished my revisions, we can motivate each other!

I am really glad to hear that things went so well for you guys!!!

            Again....CONGRATS....
