Residency Reviews

Hi all!!

I haven't been on here in awhile...the DH is in the thick of interviewing for residencies and as a lot of you know, that means lots of worrying and preparing for US!!

Anyhow, I was wondering if someone could tell me why people don't add to the residency reviews? I was hoping to look at those to see what others say about different programs, but the same ones are there as when I first started looking at them. I noticed when I tried to add to the reviews, I couldn't find the place to actually add to it. Maybe that is why other people don't?

Any ideas??

My best guess is fear of potential adverse personal ramifications. Maybe it's just me, but (at least while DW is in residency) I don't think I'd ever consider giving a long, detailed and public scoop on the program. Too many possibilities (at least in my mind) of creating something that could come back to bite me and/or DW in the proverbial "ass".

I would try and PM people if you are curious about their particular residency.

I agree with Kevin that it's risky to post here about your program.

Most people would love to give you the real scoop in a private situation.

We have lots of friends in various residencies throughout NY. I can answer questions or get the info from them about a number of different specialties and programs.

You can also check out http://www.scutwork.com for some reviews. They don't have reviews for absolutely every specialty and location but they're pretty good.

I have tried a few times in the past to post a residency review about my location and it always crashes my IE. Sorry.
