  • who's been doing this the longest?

Today is our third anniversary. Well, one of them - we also celebrate on September 1st, which is when we actually signed the marriage papers. Today is the anniversary of the ceremony.

Unfortunately I don't think I'm going to see much (if any) of DH tonight. It's 7:30pm and just on going-home-time, an emergency has popped up. Hence my presence here...

So it got me thinking. Who's been doing this married to a medical spouse thing for the longest time? I'm a mere baby at three years. I want to know who of us has suffered the longest!

I think there are those here who have been at it longer than me, but DH & I got married when he was still in undergrad, in August of 1990, almost 16.5 years ago.

We've also been together since the undergrad pre-med days (GMAT and handtyped applications). 9.5 years together, 3.5 of them married.

We've been together for 12 years (early med. school) married for 8 years. I only count the 8 years of marriage though.

For me being "together" and being "married" are extremely different. I'm not saying it's this way for everyone...

We have been together for coming up 11 years. Only five years since med school started though. But, before that DH was a wannabe professional athlete and spent all his time training. It was almost as bad!

We started dating during undergrad. We've been married for 5 years, together for 9 and still have 5.65 years left of training.

By the time we will be finished, I will have suffered through 13 years of med school(4) and residency(9).

Let's hope we live long enough to see the light!

We've been married for 10 years, since undergrad. I don't count the time before that, like Flynn.

18 years of wedded bliss. We lived in sin for a year or so before that. I'm old.

Looks like so far Angie is the winner... Anyone been doing this for longer than 18 years? (Bloody hell, you deserve medals if you have!)

Meet the first week of freshman year, in the dorms 10 years ago. Moved in 2 years later (altho we stayed in each others' dorm practically every nite). Been married for 6 years and our 10 year dating anniversary will be in Jan.
