    I know nothing about wine.....so don't laugh.

If you buy a white wine (and it comes chilled) and then leave it out for a day (unopened) and then put it in the fridge for a day and then drink it....is it still ok (because it went from fridge to sitting out to fridge again).

      Good, thanks.

After I'm done with it, and want to put it back in the fridge, do I put the cork back in it or put some foil on top of the bottle to keep it covered?

As you can tell, I have no clue!!!!

I generally put the cork back in to keep the air out, I don't think foil would be as effective?

How come it doesn't alter the wine if you buy it chilled and then leave it sitting out (unopened) for a day and then put it back in the fridge?

When you buy it chilled, it is just for your convenience. You could probably buy the same wine off the shelf elsewhere in the store or at another store. Wine should be kept below a certain temperature (high heat or sunlight or temperature fluctuations would damage). Since it still has the cork in it and isn't exposed to air, it's fine.

It depends on the temperature to which it heated. If wine (like beer) goes from cold to hot to cold again, it tastes like poo.
