    So it just occured to me...are they allowed to do that? Shouldn't I get a portion of the proceeds? Like royalties? I was excited, now I'm a bit...angry?

        Surprising they did it without your persmission (I imagine the school ok'd it) BUT That's still pretty cool. You are a published and recognized author! I hope you get some royalties off of that.

          My understanding is that items like that are the schools' property - not the grad student (sad!). But congratulations - that is fabulous!

            I thought it was the schools property as well. Sort of like if you invent something new at work, all of the profits belong to your company.

                  So...it does belong to the school It is no different than ordering it from the library and paying for the photocopying. I guess if I get a book deal, both would be available on Amazon, just I would get paid for the book deal one...
