  • An alternative for family fun night....

We were going to go to the gym where my kids take gymnastics/dance because they have a family night on Fridays where the whole family comes to jump on the trampolines, etc, etc..........and when I went to sign up for it today I found out that the program doesn't start until the middle of October!!!!!!!

Any suggestions out there? I was thinking of taking the kids to see Spy Kids again, because it is at the $2 theatre now....

Here are a few inexpensive things that we do with our nieces and nephew:

-Build a fortress in your living room with furniture and sheets

-go swimming at the local pool

    -scavenger hunts

-have outdoor games night. Everyone gets to choose a game such as redlight/greenlight, toilet tag, tv tag, capture the flag, and hide and go seek. The unintended benefit is that everyone sleeps very well after this.

    Have fun!

I thought I'd share this little fiasco...Thomas had to work until 7:00. We kept waiting for him to get home so that we could make our little Pizzas...so the kids and I were starving. Finally, he called to be picked up. For our fun night I had decided on a neat craft..we chose ceramic pumpkin/ghost-looking votive holders to paint! We picked him up and decided to just go to the local pizza place instead of coming home and ordering.....MISTAKE!! The kids were tired, hungry, etc...and they were bouncing off the walls..yelling, fighting, crying....it was horrible. We were soooo embarassed....The table of people next to us asked to be moved across the restaraunt and people were giving us the evil eye We ended up going home after dinner and sending everyone to bed instead of finshing our fun night..but after Thomas got home from work on Saturday (3.30pm we had a great time doing our crafts and having a nice dinner together. This week we're going to paint halloween T-shirts...we can't wait!
