bonus pay army

I was wondering when the bonus pay starts? As an intern, he is only receiving $100 a month, but it hasn't shown up yet and so... He's only been officially interning since Jun 13, though.

If I remember correctly, it should have shown up by now. Have you looked at the LES? http://www.dfas.mypay.mil (I think- I have to google it every time)

If it hasn't shown up by the 30 July paycheck, have him check in payroll- I think it's building 11.

and in what can only be determined was a miracle-

Last year Rick negotiated his contract so that his MSP would hit in July instead of October. (or maybe it's the VSP or the ISP- whichever one is supposed to hit in October to cover October to October. They pro-rated us last year since he renegotiated it so we got the $ from October to July. (sucked)

so THIS year, we didn't get the second bonus in July like we should have- I figured it was going to be a complete hassle like 99% of the military pay issues are. NOPE. I called the pay guy at the Company HQ, got him on the phone the 1st time (a miracle right there), spoke to him, he patched us through to the Army Surgeon General's office, left a message and this morning told me to be there tomorrow with my Power of Attorney because "we owe some money, honey."

I'm shocked. Amazed. I have renewed faith in the military pay. Ok, I have renewed faith in B Company BAMC. But it's a start!

That's a great story Jenn! The pay showed up, but I haven't seen the LES yet since I've been out of town with the kiddos. But it's there.

The pay has been good for us so far. We have heard lots of horror stories when people change service/station, but it was smooth for us. And his HPSP friends haven't had problems, either...

Maybe the ARMY figured out that people really do like to get paid...
