  • Flowers or cookie bouquet?

    Hi guys!
I have a friend having a double mastectomy today--she will be in the hospital for 2 days. I'd like to send flowers, but I was considering sending a cookie bouquet instead since she has a 4 year old daughter. But I'm not even sure if the daughter will be going to the hospital since this is going to be an incredibly tense situation. What do you all think? Or is there another item I could send that would be better?

You might also want to send her something after she gets home from the hospital -- that wasy she doesn't have as much stuff to bring home. (Unless she will be in the hospital for a while).
You can never go wrong with flowers!

Why in the heck is this in the military spouse folder??? I guess I was tired when I posted this! Thanks for the advice Nellie. I think we are going to get a meal schedule together for when she starts her chemo in the coming months.

A meal schedule is a great idea and an absolute godsend for someone with kids (or anyone going through medical stuff like that). We participated in that for a friend when she had twins, another baby, hemmoroid surgery, and then gallbladder surgery. (Within a two year time frame). 8O It helped her out A LOT and she was incredibly thankful for those meals. You can make extra too and put in her freezer if she has space.
Sweet of you to do that, Sue!

I love the idea of a meal schedule, so helpful.
