Well....
The latest from the Air Force front is pretty bizarre, but not such a shock (to me anyway). Gretchen thought to ask the contact at AFIT about COT, since she is delayed in graduating until Sept 30. Normal Peds certification boards are in Oct, the same month she would be at COT. So, after about three days of phone tag with AFIT, and Randolph (assignments officer) we were told yesterday to schedule and pay for her to sit for boards in October! The deadline to pay for them is the Feb 29th! Nothing like a last minute decision. It basically boils down to the fact that if DW went from residency to COT - with no certification, we could miss out on some money (about $12-15K). We will still get assigned somewhere, they will do all the inprocessing and teach her the computer use. Then in January, she will head off to Alabama for COT. Which is a better senario than being unemployed from October to January! It will still be interesting!
Anyway, I just thought that I would share with everyone following our saga!
