We are on our way to Landstuhl this summer and I need help. I have lost the Sites site and we are currently nowhere near a military housing office I can talk to. We were in Heidelberg from 97-99, but I need K-Town specific facts. Are the kitchens wired for 110 (they are in H). Where can I find the housing allowance for an 05 with 2 kids? I need to start preparing now. Has anyone out there been there, done that?

Help needed for Germany move

Sassy,
We were stationed at Landstuhl from 2002-2002 and absolutely loved it. I am pretty sure that most of the housing on base is wired for both 110 and 210; however, we did not live on base and I would highly suggest looking at living on the economy. There are plenty of small villages withing 10-15 min. of Landstuhl and being an 05 your housing allowance would certainly allow for you to get a much nicer and larger home than the apartments on base. We had a great house paid even less than our 03 housing allowance allotted for. The K-town housing department can be fairly helpful, but we found the house we lived in through the military paper on post--many locals advertise through them. Also, by living off post you have the option of sending your kids to German schools. Our son went to German Kindergarten for 2 years and it was a great experience for him. The DOD schools also have emersion programs. If I can find out more specific information for you in regards to websites, etc. I will let you know.
