I was just reading in the Army Times that the expected pay incrase for 2003 for O-3, O-4 and O-5 is going to be in the 6.5% range. This is before any recommended increase within the new budget just presented.
Also, in other good news, 1/3 of the budget for the defense is slated to go to pay increase (officer and enlisted) and FAMLY HOUSING. They are planning on rebuilding or renovating at least 50% of the housing stock in existence. (and if any of you have seen what some of the soldier's families are living in, you will appreciate how monumental this is...) They are laso going to try to expand the numbers of homes on the military bases/posts.
I know that here there's still a huge waiting list for O-3 housing and it doesn't usually go to the BMAC docs, but to the 5th Army captains.
