  • My New Hobby

I needed some outside interests. Locally. So I bought myself a metal detector, figuring that I live in the Boston area, there's gotta be lots of troves of revolutionary stuff here. And it will get me outside and moving.
So I took it out today for the first time, and I found aluminum cans, old pieces of machinery, and a quarter!!!
I brought the quarter home, washed it and scraped it, and it's from....1993.
    I'm going to keep trying!

    Lol! Well good effort!

What’s that treasure hunting thing (it’s like all these hidden boxes or something all over - there are clues, you follow them - you never actually take anything, it’s like just a hobby thing people do... I’ll try to figure out the name. But maybe you could use the metal detector while also doing that some time - kill two treasure hunts with one stone. Lol).

I think it’s called Geocaching. I’ve only met one person that did it, but seems fun and would maybe provide you with new areas to search for metal things... just a thought!

Yeah I read about geocaching in the early days of GPS. I think I'm more in the market for gold bullion left here by pre-revolutionary pirates.

That sounds like fun. I always wanted to try out a metal detector. Let us know if you find anything good!
